The ancient city of Heraclea Sintica, located near Petrich in southwestern Bulgaria, is among 15 sites nominated for the 15th annual "Wonders of Bulgaria" award.
The Cultural Heritage Society, representing Europa Nostra in Bulgaria, organized the campaign to promote preservation of Bulgaria's cultural and historical heritage.
The public can vote for their favorite site until October 30, 2025, on the Standart news agency website.
Heraclea Sintica, situated at the foot of Mount Kozhuh, is one of Bulgaria's most significant ancient cities and a popular destination for history enthusiasts and cultural tourism.
The award winners will be announced on November 1, 2025, at the Ivan Vazov National Theatre in Sofia.
