State Minister for Women's Affairs Dr. Ahd Jaasous met Wednesday with government and civil society representatives to strengthen coordination on women's rights, protection, and gender equality.
The meeting, attended by National Women's Committee Chairperson Dr. Shafiqa Saeed and other women leaders, focused on cooperation, information sharing, and aligning priorities on key issues affecting women. Participants also discussed better protection for women and activists, reducing duplication, and adopting a unified approach.
The meeting called for stronger action against violence against women and regular sessions of the Supreme Council for Women to reinforce the legal and institutional framework.
Dr. Jaasous said the effort aims to build sustainable partnerships to address current challenges, set national priorities, and improve support for women's protection and empowerment. Participants stressed that closer cooperation between government institutions and civil society is essential for lasting progress.
