President al-Alimi meets with Presidency of Consultation, Reconciliation Authority
[06/07/2026 06:52]
RIYADH - SABA
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi met Monday with the Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Authority Mohammed al-Ghaithi, along with the authority's deputies Abdulmalik al-Mikhlafi, Sakhr al-Wajeeh, Jameela Ali Raja, and Akram al-Ameri.

The meeting reviewed the latest national developments and discussed the Commission's plans and work program for the coming phase as part of its advisory role in supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and promoting national consensus in addressing Yemen's current challenges.

President al-Alimi emphasized the importance of the authority fulfilling the responsibilities assigned to it under the Declaration of the Transfer of Power and its internal regulations, particularly in strengthening unity among Yemen's various political and national forces.

He said this would help reinforce state institutions and support the completion of the country's transitional process.

The President also briefed the authority's leadership on recent political, security, and military developments, including what he described as the escalation by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.

He further accused Iran of repeatedly violating international resolutions related to Yemen, citing the recent operation of a flight allegedly transporting military experts and equipment to Houthi-controlled areas.

He described the move as a violation of Yemen's sovereignty, a challenge to the international community's will, and a direct setback to de-escalation efforts in Yemen and the wider region.

Al-Alimi reviewed the government's progress in implementing its comprehensive reform agenda, advancing economic recovery plans, and improving public revenues.

He praised the support provided by Saudi Arabia, saying it had played a significant role in achieving key milestones in these efforts.

The President also commended the security and intelligence services for what he described as significant successes in dismantling terrorist cells and networks and foiling several criminal plots, noting that these achievements reflect the growing capabilities of Yemen's state institutions in safeguarding security, stability, and public order.

He stressed that the current stage requires the highest levels of coordination and integration among state institutions and supporting bodies, greater unity in national decision-making, and the mobilization of all efforts toward restoring state institutions, protecting gains made in economic recovery, and strengthening Yemen's growing confidence with regional and international partners.
