The total of German exports increased by 3.9 percent during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period last year, reaching 817.8 billion euros.

According to the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the volume of exports went up by about 31 billion euros compared to the first half of 2025, while imports rose 4.7 percent, reaching 712.1 billion euros, an increase of 31.7 billion euros year-on-year.

Germany's trade balance recorded a surplus of 105.7 billion euros in the first six months of the year, down 0.7 percent compared to the same period in 2025, when the surplus was 106.4 billion euros.
