His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, met Tuesday with Chief Justice Mohsen Yahya Talib, Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council; heads of the judicial bodies; Dr. Ali al-Awash, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court; Judge Badr al-Arida, Minister of Justice; and Prosecutor General Qaher Mustafa.

During the meeting, President al-Alimi received a briefing on the performance of the judiciary over the past period, the cases currently before its various judicial chambers, and the role of judges in strengthening the state’s presence and upholding the rule of law.

He expressed his appreciation for the efforts, achievements, resilience and continued performance of the judiciary, commending the pivotal role of the Supreme Judicial Council in protecting public order and safeguarding rights and freedoms.

President al-Alimi affirmed that the state’s battle today is not merely military and security-related, but also a battle for law, justice, and institutions.

He stressed that the state’s true victory lies in ensuring that its institutions continue to function even during wartime, and that citizens feel that the law is stronger than weapons and influence.

The President highlighted the judiciary’s role as an integral part of the battle to restore the state and one of its pillars in confronting the terrorist Houthi militias, which target not only military positions but also ports, public facilities, displacement camps, and civilians, while seeking to undermine state institutions and terrorize society.

He added, “Therefore, these crimes must not remain merely statements of condemnation or military incidents. Every terrorist attack must be transformed into a complete legal and judicial case file, so that it does not disappear with the passage of time or changes in political circumstances.”

He stressed that the message must be clear: there must be no immunity for saboteurs, no impunity and no future political settlement that can erase the rights of victims or wipe away grave crimes.

The President urged the judiciary to activate legal mechanisms more efficiently in confronting terrorist organizations, their financing networks, smuggling networks, and money-laundering operations, as well as anyone who provides them with cover, resources, or logistical assistance.

In this context, the President also stressed the importance of accelerating investigation and trial procedures in serious terrorism cases, while strictly adhering to fair-trial guarantees.

He said that the battle to restore state institutions begins by presenting a model that is fundamentally different from the areas controlled by militias.
