Minister of Planning Discusses with Qatar Development Fund, Group (G7+) enhancing cooperation

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Afrah al-Zouba discussed Tuesday with the Deputy Director General of Planning at the Qatar Development Fund, Hayat al Thani the priorities of the Yemeni government in the health, education, energy and water sectors.

The meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the Hamburg Sustainability Conference 2026 in the presence of the Yemeni Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, Louay al-Eryani, discussed the government's efforts to implement economic reforms and enhance the role of the private sector, in preparation for preparing a joint work program, developing the discussion and transforming it into practical projects.

The Qatari side affirmed the Fund's continued commitment to Yemen.Reviewing its existing programmes in the water and sanitation sectors.

The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation discussed with the Secretary-General of the Fragile States Group (G7+) ways of cooperation and enhancing coordination to support fragile states' issues.

The two sides stressed the importance of collective work within the group to convey the issues of fragile states to the UN Security Council and the G20, and to take Yemen as a model for highlighting the common challenges facing these countries, in addition to coordinating efforts to highlight success stories and continue joint advocacy.

Minister al-Zouba stressed the importance of moving from humanitarian response to development, strengthening the resilience of institutions and the continuity of basic services.

She Called the international community not to leave fragile states alone in facing crises, stressing that Yemen's crises resulted from factors beyond its control, including the repercussions of climate change and the decline in international financing.
