Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Governor of Ma'rib Sultan al-Arada met Tuesday with a team from the office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen Hans Grundberg, headed by Radwa Mohammed Nour El-Din, an official in the Political Affairs Department.

The visit of this official is the first to Ma'rib Governorate, which comes within the framework of the United Nations efforts aimed at following up on the implementation of the plan to support procedures for the release and reception of detainees.

Al-Arada heard a briefing from the team of the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations on the visit program, which includes the implementation of a number of technical and field activities and meetings related to the plan to support procedures for the release and reception of detainees, in accordance with what was agreed upon at the tenth meeting of the Supervisory Committee for the Implementation of the Agreement on the Release of Detainees, and in a way that contributes to creating the necessary conditions for the success of the humanitarian operation.

At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by the head of the government delegation negotiating the file of prisoners and detainees Hadi Haig, and the delegation member, Hassan al Qubaisi, al-Arada welcomed the team of the UN envoy's office, noting the complete keenness to provide all forms of support and cooperation to make the team's mission a success, and to provide all necessary facilities that enable them to implement the field program according to the time plan, including providing the necessary security and logistical arrangements, in a way that contributes to achieving the desired goals of the visit.

Al-Arada stressed that the political leadership, represented by His Excellency Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, deals positively with all initiatives and efforts led by the United Nations aimed at addressing humanitarian files, most notably the detainees file, due to its humanitarian and national importance, and its positive effects in alleviating the suffering of families, and making humanitarian efforts that serve the Yemeni people a success.

For her part, Radwa Nour El-Din expressed the appreciation of the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Yemen for the efforts and interest of the member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Governor of Ma'rib, Sultan Al-Arada, and his continued cooperation in providing the necessary facilities for the success of the team's missions.
