Prime Minister Receives ICRC Delegation in Aden

Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani on Monday received the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation to Yemen, Christine Cipolla, who briefed him on the final preparations underway for implementing the detainee exchange agreement and the committee's ongoing efforts to facilitate the process.

Dr. Zindani reaffirmed that the government attaches special importance to the issue of prisoners and abductees, describing it as both a humanitarian and national priority.

He praised the ICRC's role in facilitating humanitarian procedures related to the file and stressed the need for continued efforts to press the Houthi terrorist militias to engage seriously in resolving the humanitarian issue.

The meeting also reviewed the latest humanitarian developments in Yemen and discussed areas of cooperation and coordination between the government and the ICRC to strengthen the response to humanitarian needs across the country.

During the meeting, the ICRC delegation chief presented an overview of the organization's programs and field operations in Yemen, including the scope of its humanitarian interventions across various sectors. She expressed appreciation for the existing cooperation with the government and emphasized the importance of maintaining close coordination to ensure the success of humanitarian programs and advance efforts to address pressing humanitarian issues, foremost among them the prisoners' file.
