His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, has directed an important address to the People of Yemen on the Occasion of the 36th Ceremony of the Republic of Yemen Marking 22nd of May.

President al-Alimi congratulated the people on this great day, calling all to make this anniversary a new station to regaining confidence, renewing pledge, unifying efforts and turning new page titled justice, partnership, just state, peace and development.

“In this national anniversary, the 22nd of May, I do not talk to you in a traditional festival speech, nor in a political victory language, but as responsible person before people exhausted by wars, injustices and long years of suffering, split and institutional deterioration,” said President al-Alimi.
Today, Yemen stands at different point of its modern history, a moment requires from all of us courage to tell truth, not to run away from it, and just courage, not stubbornness and courage of building the future, not remaining hostages to past wounds and its conflicts.
President al-Alimi confirmed that the Yemeni Unity has been a great dream for consecutive generations of Yemeni people and a national and humanitarian noble project carried by people of the south and north alike truly and honestly as a way toward the state of institutions, justice and equal partnership and citizenship, he said.

“But the truth, which must not be ignored is that that project has been subjected to dangerous deviations resulted in deep injustices starting by marginalizing and exclusion and reaching to harming the national partnership, which was the foundation of establishing the unity.”

President al-Alimi reconfirmed that doing justice to the Southern Issue, healing the harm, insuring just partnership in authority and wealth, enabling all Yemeni people and determining their political, economic and cultural future remain the untraversable fixed pledge.

He reconfirmed that solving the Southern Issue will be under the umbrella of the state represents basic foundation for national integration and condition of survival for finalizing liberation battle and realizing inclusive peace.

The president talked about the vision of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government for the forthcoming period for building an ideal example meeting aspiration of Yemeni people led by continuing honest work for regaining the state institutions and realizing the republican system across Yemeni geography and ending Houthi terrorist militia’s coup.
