Yemen took part on Tuesday in a meeting of senior Arab officials preparing for the 118th session of the Arab Economic and Social Council.
The Yemeni delegation was led by Mohammed Al-Humaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for Foreign Trade.
Officials discussed a range of issues facing Arab economies, including regional trade integration, investment, food security and efforts to strengthen supply chains and logistics. The meeting also reviewed progress on the Greater Arab Free Trade Area and plans for an Arab Customs Union.
Other discussions focused on digital transformation, sustainable and green finance, economic diversification, artificial intelligence and developing workforce skills.
Food security and agricultural development were also high on the agenda, alongside proposals to improve regional cooperation and address emerging economic, environmental and technological challenges.
Al-Humaidi said Yemen remains committed to closer Arab economic cooperation and greater trade and investment ties, stressing the importance of removing barriers to commerce and creating conditions that support growth and economic recovery.
The meeting's recommendations will be submitted to the 118th session of the Arab Economic and Social Council for consideration.
