KUWAIT-SABA
The State of Kuwait has strongly condemned a “heinous Iranian attack” that targeted its territory on Saturday morning, calling it a flagrant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, airspace, international law, and the Charter of the United Nations.
In a statement published by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Kuwait’s full and inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter in response to what it termed a “blatant act of aggression.”
The ministry stressed that any response would be proportionate to the scale and nature of the attack, in accordance with international law, and would include all necessary measures to safeguard the country’s territory, citizens, and residents, while preserving its sovereignty, security, and stability.
The statement further noted that Kuwaiti air defenses successfully intercepted the attack in line with approved operational procedures and applicable rules of engagement.
The ministry warned that the continuation of such hostile military actions in the region would undermine regional security and stability.
