His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) laid today, Wednesday, during his official visit to the Russian Federation, a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier at the Kremlin wall in Alexander Garden in Red Square in the Russian capital, Moscow.
After that, the Chairman of the PLC witnessed a ceremonial display by the honor guard, after the military band played the national anthem of the Republic of Yemen.
The memorial, established in the late 1960s, is one of the symbols of Russian national glory that embodies the resilience and sacrifices of the Russian people, and their great victory over Nazism and its eternal defeat.
The shrine contains the remains of the unknown Soviet soldiers from the Battle of Moscow in 1941 who were moved from the city of Saint Petersburg (formerly Leningrad) to the site of the shrine alongside the western wall of the Kremlin.
