ADEN-SABA
Kuwait has reaffirmed its support for the legitimate Yemeni government and Yemen’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, praising Saudi Arabia’s sustained efforts since 2014 to support a comprehensive and lasting political settlement in Yemen based on the three agreed references and its leadership of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen.
In a statement carried by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry called on the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities and implement relevant resolutions, particularly Resolutions 2216 and 2817.
The ministry strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s continued attacks on Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia, saying they provoke Muslims worldwide and constitute a dangerous violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites.
It also condemned attacks on Riyadh and other Saudi cities, as well as attacks targeting civilians, civilian and economic infrastructure, and ships in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait, warning that such actions threaten regional security and maritime navigation.
Kuwait categorically rejected the recurrence of such hostile acts, describing them as a blatant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and international and international humanitarian law.
The ministry also reaffirmed Kuwait’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty and security and protect its citizens and residents, stressing that Saudi Arabia’s security is inseparable from the security of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
