Presidential Leadership Council Chairman: Yemen Dawn Operation Will Continue Until Its Objectives Are Achieved
[07/10/2026 06:51]
ADEN-SABA

His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, said Wednesday that Operation Yemen Dawn will continue until its objectives are fully achieved, stressing that the state’s goal of restoring Sana’a and extending state authority across the country remains unchanged.

President al-Alimi made the remarks during a meeting with leaders of the National Coalition of Political Parties and Components, headed by Dr. Ahmed Obaid bin Daghr, to discuss the latest national developments and ways to strengthen political support for state institutions alongside the launch of Operation Yemen Dawn.

The meeting focused on turning political support for the state into coordinated political and popular action, strengthening the role of political parties in the governorates, unifying national efforts against the Houthi militia, raising the morale of citizens and fighters, and maintaining national cohesion during the current critical phase.

President al-Alimi welcomed the coalition’s leadership and members, commending its strategic political plan and its call for a more organized political and popular role in supporting state institutions.

He briefed the coalition on the latest military and political developments, saying the launch of Operation Yemen Dawn marks a new phase in the effort to restore state institutions and complete the liberation of the remaining parts of Yemen, leading to the restoration of Sana’a.

The President praised the armed forces, security forces, other military formations and the popular resistance on all fronts, as well as the sacrifices made by those killed and wounded and their families. He said these sacrifices will form the foundation for restoring Yemen’s state and institutions.

He stressed that the military campaign must be backed by a united political, popular and media front capable of raising public morale, strengthening confidence in state institutions, countering misinformation and preventing the Houthi militia from turning temporary battlefield developments into political or psychological gains.

President al-Alimi called on political parties and components to strengthen their presence in the governorates, maintain closer ties with local communities, help address citizens’ concerns, and remain in contact with their cadres and supporters in areas under Houthi control.

He also reaffirmed that the safe-return and amnesty initiative is part of the broader effort to restore the state and reduce the human cost of the war. He said it provides an opportunity for those who abandon the militia and return to the state, provided they have not been involved in crimes excluded from the initiative, while helping separate Houthi leaders from the communities whose young people they send to the battlefronts.

President al-Alimi expressed his deep appreciation to Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, for its steadfast support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the government and the Yemeni people, as well as its backing for the armed forces in efforts to restore state institutions, security and stability.

He also welcomed the Saudi Cabinet’s reaffirmation of its full support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the Yemeni government and people in ending the coup and restoring state institutions. He noted the Cabinet’s position that the Houthi militia had chosen military escalation over peace and continued to threaten the region and maritime navigation in the southern Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait.

President al-Alimi further praised the directives of King Salman to address the status of Yemenis residing in Saudi Arabia without legal residency and provide them with the necessary facilities, describing the measure as another expression of Saudi Arabia’s broad support for Yemen, its people and institutions.

He said military operations can naturally bring advances on one front and temporary setbacks or difficulties on another, but the state’s direction and objectives will remain unchanged: restoring Sana’a and bringing the entire country under state control.

“Operation Yemen Dawn is moving toward its objectives, and the armed forces, security forces and popular resistance will continue to carry out their duty until state institutions are restored and the liberation of the country is completed,” President al-Alimi said.

He added that political parties and components are essential partners on the political, popular and media fronts, stressing that restoring the state is a shared national responsibility and not the sole task of the armed forces.

“We may face difficulties, but we will not retreat from our goal of restoring the state and its institutions, completing the liberation of our country and opening the way for a just and lasting peace,” he said. “Yemen Dawn is not merely the name of a military operation; it is a promise that this war will end with a state and that Yemenis will regain their republic and the future they aspire to.”
