BRUSSELS-SABA
Yemen's Ambassador to the European Union, Mohammed Taha Mustafa, met with the European Commission's Director-General for the Middle East, North Africa, and the Gulf, Stefano Sannino, and his deputy, Michael Karnitschnig.
During the meeting, the sides discussed bilateral relations between Yemen and the European Union. Ambassador Mustafa briefed Sannino on the latest developments in Yemen, including the continued rejection of peace initiatives by Houthi militias and the suffering of the Yemeni people as a result.
Mustafa called on the European Union to hold the Houthi militia accountable for the humanitarian situation in Yemen and the dangers they have caused. In response, Sannino reaffirmed the European Union's support for the Yemeni people and its commitment to working with the United Nations and its envoy to restore peace and stability in the country.
