The Prime Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani, held a virtual meeting today, Wednesday, with British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa Stephen Doughty.

The talks covered Yemeni-British bilateral relations and cooperation, the developments in Yemen and the region, the military escalation of the terrorist Houthi militia and its implications for regional and international security as well as maritime navigation.

They also addressed the government's ongoing efforts to carry out the needed institutional, financial, administrative and economic reforms.

The Prime Minister celebrated the deep historical ties between Yemen and the United Kingdom, highly appreciating the British supportive stances in support of Yemen, particularly at the UN Security Council.

and expressed the hope of elevating them to a broader level of partnership and coordination in various fields, while expressing his appreciation for the British stance supporting Yemen,
Dr. Zindani warned about the serious consequences of the ongoing Houthi escalation on regional and international security, including attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandeb, which pose a threat to global trade, energy security, and freedom of navigation.

The British Minister of State stated that London is interested in supporting the Yemeni government and further bolstering cooperation between the two countries to serve common interests.
