Minister of Social Affairs said the Houthi five-year-long war "has directly affected more than six million Yemeni children."
In a press statement, Ibtihaj al-Kamal said the war caused the drop out of "5.2 million children from schools" and "caused two million children to suffer malnutrition."
Citing more direct abuses, she pointed to the rebel militia's "radicalization of young students through sectarian curricula and recruiting them to fight" against the government and civilians opposed to the militia's rule.
She called on the international community to end the Houthi atrocities and to step up efforts for protection of Yemeni children.
