Yemen, Indonesia Seek to Expand Higher Education and Research Cooperation

Yemen and Indonesia have explored ways to broaden academic cooperation and strengthen institutional partnerships between their higher education sectors during talks in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Yemen's Ambassador to Indonesia Salem Balfaqih met with Indonesian Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Professor Brian Yuliarto to discuss expanding collaboration in higher education, scientific research, and technology, while advancing implementation of a bilateral memorandum of understanding signed by the two countries.

The discussions focused on reviving and expanding scholarship opportunities, as well as academic and cultural exchange programmes designed to deepen cooperation between Yemeni and Indonesian universities and promote shared educational interests.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination and enhancing collaboration in academic and scientific fields, underscoring the longstanding friendship and growing partnership between Yemen and Indonesia.
