King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre" Masam Project to clear Yemeni territories of mines, managed during the third week of June to remove approximately 1,779 mines planted by the Houthi militia in various areas.
According to a statement issued by the Masam Project and received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the removed explosives included 257 anti-tank mines, 151 anti-personnel mines, 1,292 unexploded ordnance items, and 79 explosive devices.
The operations were carried out across several areas, including Aden Governorate, Hays District in Hodeidah Governorate, Al Mukalla District in Hadhramout Governorate, Midi District in Hajjah Governorate, Al Wadi District in Marib Governorate, as well as Shabwa and Taiz governorates.
The statement added that the number of mines cleared since the beginning of June has reached 4,622 mines, while the total number of mines removed since the launch of the Masam Project has risen to 568,961 mines
The project noted that these mines had been randomly planted across various Yemeni territories, posing a threat to the lives of civilians, particularly children, women, and the elderly, while spreading fear among communities.
