[22/02/2026 09:42]

RIYADH – SABA
The Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting on Sunday evening, chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council.

The meeting attended by concil's members: Sultan al-Aradah, Abdulrahman al-Muharrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi and Salem al-Khanbashi.

Tariq Saleh and Mahmoud al-Subaihi participated via video conference, while Council member Othman Mujalli was absent with an excuse.

The Council listened to a brief update from the President regarding his participation in the Munich Security Conference and his bilateral meetings with a number of leaders and heads of delegations from brotherly and friendly countries, as well as decision-makers.

These meetings reflected Yemen’s growing presence as an active partner in regional and international security issues.

The meeting also reviewed developments in the temporary capital, Aden, in light of the recent events witnessed in the city, including attempts to attack state institutions, disrupt their work and use the street as a tool of pressure to achieve illegitimate political goals.

The Council reaffirmed the state’s commitment to responding firmly to any attempt to disrupt its national institutions, launching a comprehensive investigation into these events and holding accountable anyone proven to be involved in inciting or financing them.

It praised the high level of vigilance demonstrated by the armed and security forces in protecting civilians, public and private property and preserving civil peace and public tranquility.

In this context, the Council renewed its deep appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s approval to host the Southern Dialogue Conference, considering it an unprecedented advanced step in addressing the Southern issue as a just cause with historical and social dimensions that require a fair solution within the framework of the state and its guaranteed references.

The Presidential Leadership Council warned against squandering this historic opportunity under the pressure of slogans or narrow calculations.

It called for safeguarding the achievements made in the security, service, and economic fields and for drawing lessons from the reckless adventures of the Houthi militias that have isolated more than 20 million Yemenis without salaries or opportunities for a dignified life.

The Council also renewed its praise for the generous support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to improve conditions in the liberated governorates, expressing pride in the strategic partnership and the special, longstanding relations based on neighborhood, shared destiny, and mutual security.

It congratulated the Kingdom’s leadership on the occasion of Founding Day and on the comprehensive development and major transformations achieved across various fields.

Furthermore, the Council listened to a report from the Prime Minister on the general situation in the country and the support required to fulfill the government’s obligations toward citizens and to strengthen confidence with regional and international partners at all levels.

The report included preliminary indicators regarding the government’s work program for the current year, focusing on service and security sectors and alleviating the humanitarian suffering caused by the terrorist Houthi militias.

The Council affirmed its full support for the government, enabling it to exercise its constitutional powers and move forward with implementing the recovery plan and comprehensive reform program, including accelerating the preparation of the draft general budget, improving revenues, continuing anti-corruption efforts, enhancing transparency and accountability, and implementing service projects with a direct impact on citizens’ lives.

The meeting also addressed regional developments amid the continued intransigence of the Iranian regime and its rogue militias in Yemen and the region toward ongoing de-escalation efforts and the implications for national and regional security.

The Council affirmed the state’s readiness to deter any potential threats in close coordination with the Coalition to Support Legitimacy and the international community.
