Presidential Leadership Council Reviews Latest Developments, Stressing Accelerating Reforms

The Presidential Leadership Council held a meeting on Monday and chaired by Chairman of the Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, with the participation of all its members: Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Othman Mujalli, and Mahmoud al-Subaihi, while Sultan al-Arada, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi and Salem al-Khanbashi attended via video conference.

The meeting was devoted to discussing domestic developments, including the progress achieved in economic, financial, and administrative reforms, efforts to restore recovery, improve services, and strengthen security and stability in the interim capital Aden and the liberated governorates.

The Council received briefings on the latest security developments in the liberated governorates, as well as the measures required to address existing challenges and deal with them efficiently and responsibly.

In this context, the Council praised the efforts of the security and military forces in pursuing and arresting individuals involved in recent assassination crimes, maintaining security and stability, and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to continuing the fight against terrorism and utilizing all available resources to identify the perpetrators and those behind them and bring them to justice.

The Presidential Leadership Council reviewed an update on financial and economic performance indicators, the level of implementation of the government program, the state budget, plans to improve basic services, existing challenges, and proposed measures to complete comprehensive reforms.

The Council praised the government reforms achieved in the recent period led by the completion of the formation of the Supreme Committee for Tenders and Auctions and the establishment of the General Authority for the Care of War Wounded.

These steps contribute to strengthening principles of integrity, transparency, and good governance, improving the efficiency of state institutions, and restoring the confidence of citizens and the donor community.

The Council directed the government to intensify efforts to build on this progress, accelerate implementation, carry out approved plans to combat smuggling, manage and develop sovereign and local revenues, improve spending efficiency, direct resources toward key priorities, and fulfill the state’s essential obligations.

The Council also commended Saudi Arabia’s extension of the “MASAM” project for mine clearance, highlighting the Kingdom’s leading humanitarian role in protecting civilians and reducing the impacts of war.

It further praised the continued efforts of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen in implementing strategic projects in electricity, energy, infrastructure, and basic services sectors across various governorates.

The meeting also addressed political, security, and regional developments and their implications for the national situation, as well as the required positions and measures during the upcoming phase.

The Council reviewed follow-up reports regarding the implementation of its previous decisions and recommendations, achievement rates, obstacles, and proposed corrective measures.
