Foreign Minister, Dr. Shaya Zindani, met with the US Ambassador to Yemen, Steven Fagin, to discuss bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting touched on the latest security developments in the region, including the threats represented by the Houthi militia to navigation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
The Foreign Minister briefed the Ambassador on the militia's practices, including the detention of international and local personnel of international organizations and the rhetoric against them.
The Foreign Minister praised the United States' supportive stance towards the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, and its efforts to alleviate humanitarian suffering.
