The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)held an extraordinary meeting chaired by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council, with the presence of all its members Sultan al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Majli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem Al-Khanbashi to discuss national and regional developments and the proposed policies to address them at all levels. The Prime Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani was in attendance.

Al-Alimi Discusses With Senior British Official Bilateral Cooperation

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, met Today, Friday, with Director of the Middle East and North Africa at the British Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, in London, Dr. Rob Dixon.

They discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, ways to enhance cooperation and partnership, as well as the latest political, security and economic developments in Yemen.

The ongoing efforts aimed to support stability, recovery and strengthen state institutions were also touched upon.
Dr. al-Alimi recalled the efforts of the PLC and the government to push the fair, comprehensive and sustainable peace, while the Houthi terrorist militias have continued to obstruct the peace process and exploit truces to rearm and develop their military capabilities.

He also noted that Iran’s ongoing support for the Houthi militias poses a threat to Yemen's sovereignty, security and stability, undermining efforts to reduce escalation and achieve peace.

Al-Alimi highly praised the partnership with the UK and deeply appreciating its role in supporting Yemen politically, economically and humanitarianly, moreover sustaining efforts to build the capacities of state institutions.
The British official stated the UK is interested in supporting the PLC and the Yemeni government.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the UK Dr. Yassin was in attendance.
