His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) stated that any approach to put an end of the war in Yemen will never be successful, unless it deals with the Houthi militias as part of an Iranian cross-border scheme, and not as a local political party, warning that reducing any crisis of this kind to truces and arrangements for a ceasefire will lead to temporary risk management rather than building sustainable peace.

Presidential Leadership Council holds closed session to discuss topical national issues

RIYADH - SABA
Presidential Leadership Council held today, Sunday, here closed session presided over by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Council.

Members of the Council Sultan al-Eradah, Abdurhman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli and Faraj al-Bahssani contributed to the discussions in person while Aidarous Azubaidi and Tariq Saleh engaged via video conference.

An official at the Republic Presidency Office reported to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the session devoted to discuss the developments about the situations in the country including the government's reforms program, regional and international efforts to achieve peace, end the Iranian regime-backed Terrorist Houthi militias' coup.

The Presidential Council has confirmed its determination to keep on administrative, economic, security and military reforms, devote all resources to mitigate the humanitarian crisis, ensure basic services to the people and fulfill the State's obligations particularly paying salaries of the civil service employees, armed and security forces, pensioners, diplomatic corps and the Yemeni students abroad.

The Council has renewed its commitment to the comprehensive and fair peace that is based on the agreed on nationally, regionally and internationally terms of peace reference to ensure restoring the State's institutions, security, stability and development.

The Presidential Leadership Council expressed its great solidarity with the Syrian and Turkish peoples over the devastating earthquake which struck the countries last Monday, voicing condolences to the two brotherly peoples of Syria and Turkey over the victims of the natural disaster.
