RIYADH-SABA
The Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, Dr. Ahd Jaasous discussed Saturday with the Italian Ambassador to Yemen Carlo Baldocci ways to strengthen joint cooperation in the areas of women’s economic empowerment and capacity building.
The Minister reviewed the priorities set out in the government program and the Cabinet’s action plan for 2026, emphasizing that any support or funding provided outside the official framework fails to achieve the intended impact and does not effectively serve women in Yemen.
She also commended the Italian Republic’s supportive position toward Yemen, particularly in the United Nations Security Council.
Minister Jaasous underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral partnership in supporting and empowering women, and enhancing their roles across political, economic, and social spheres.
She stressed the need to establish an effective Yemeni–Italian partnership model rooted in women’s empowerment and contributing to the consolidation of peace.
For his part, the Italian Ambassador affirmed his country’s full readiness to step up cooperation and build direct partnerships that ensure the implementation of projects aimed at empowering Yemeni women, as well as training and capacity-building programs for women working within the state’s administrative apparatus.
