Al-Mahrami confers with US Ambassador over peace efforts in Yemen

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council PLC) Abdurhman al-Mahrami discussed today, Saturday, with the American Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin the latest developments about the situations in Yemen and the ongoing efforts to achieve peace.

Regional and international developments of common interests were also touched upon.
The conversations converged a range of topics relating to the economic challenges and basic services the Yemeni people have been experiencing due to the continuation of the terrorist Houthi militias' practices and their negative impacts upon the international shipping lanes, which further exacerbated the economic hardships.

Al-Mahrami underscored the importance of supporting the Yemeni government's efforts to restore the state's institutions, making more economic and managerial reforms and improve basic services.

Politically, al-Mahrami and the American Ambassador discussed the UN-led efforts to revive the political process in order to bring the conflict in Yemen to its end and establish peace in the region amid Houthi militias' continuing escalation in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb and the effects of that upon the humanitarian situation.

Al-Mahrami reiterated the PLC's support for the regional and international efforts to establish sustainable peace.
He highly praised the US administration's support for the PLC and the government in this regard, calling on the international community to take a more decisive measures to deter the Houthi militias and stop their endeavors to foil the efforts aiming to end the war and make peace.

The American Ambassador renewed his government's commitment to support the PLC and the government to enable it doing its duties.

He also confirmed the United States' position against the Houthis' escalations in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb
