Minister of Local Administration, Hussein al-Aghbari, discussed with Martin Vandriel, the Director of the Institutional and Economic Resilience Project of the United Nations Development Program in Yemen, the support provided to several economic projects and programs that assist development efforts in administrative units.
The meeting addressed the possibility of expanding the program's map to include governorates that were not targeted during the previous phase of the Institutional and Economic Resilience Project in Yemen, as well as working to create job opportunities for youth, empower women and support partnerships with the private sector to enhance the economic and investment conditions of the country in general.
During the meeting, Minister al-Aghbari emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts and joint coordination between the government and UN organizations to implement development and economic programs and projects for local authorities, and to address the most important needs and basic requirements to enhance the role of administrative units in developmental and economic aspects, contributing to alleviating the suffering of citizens.
For his part, the Director of the Institutional Resilience Project in the UNDP outlined several procedural steps taken to assess the project, affirming the UN's support for implementing developmental projects for administrative units and the importance of strengthening relationships that ensure the continuation of economic projects and programs.
