Deputy governor of Marib Dr. Abd Rabbu Miftah, in a meeting today with the leader of the team of Joint Committee of UN agencies in charge of reviewing the conditions of the displaced, and the new officer in charge for the Protection and Voluntary Deportation Department at the International Organization for Migration in Yemen discussed the level of response of international organizations to the needs of the displacees and the conditions of African migrants services and interventions provided to them.

They discussed the continuation of coordination to resume the voluntary deportation of 300 illegal immigrants from the Horn of Africa in the governorate, who wish to return voluntarily to their homeland during the coming period.

During the two separate meetings, Miftah gave the two teams a brief explanation on the conditions of the displaced and African migrants who continue to arrive in the governorate on a daily basis in search of safety, freedom and basic services. and resources, in light of the decline in the level of humanitarian interventions provided by UN and international organisations.

Dr. Miftah warned of a humanitarian catastrophe as a result of the decline of the humanitarian interventions of UN and international organizations in the province.. stressing that the alarm warns of an imminent famine.. calling on the organizations to fulfill their obligations and carry out their humanitarian duties towards the displaced and African migrants and to help provide care and basic services for them, foremost among them is providing food, potable water, shelter, health services, education and other services.
