Yemen’s Ambassador and Permanent Delegate to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Dr. Mohammed Jmeih has said that UNESCO has dispatched an international monitoring and response mission, with the participation of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), to the Island of Socotra, which is listed as a Natural World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

MASAM demines 2,467 Houthi landmines mid-January 2019

The King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Activities Center's Demining Project "MASAM" has demined 11 anti-person landmines, 851 anti-vehicles mines, 177 explosive device and 1980 shells during the second week of this January 2019.

All these landmines, explosive devices and shells have amounted to 2467.

The project demined 35,227 mines since commencing its activities in Yemen all have been laid by Houthi militia in lands, schools and houses in different fake shapes.

The mines left big number of victims, mainly children, women and old people.
