The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Afrah al-Zouba stated that the Yemeni state undertakes its constitutional and sovereign responsibility to protect its citizens, lands, coasts, ports and territorial waters, and that enabling its institutions to carry out this responsibility is a key element for the security of Bab al-Mandeb, the Red Sea and international navigation and trade.

Al-Khanbashi, UNFPA Discuss Expanding Support in Hadramout

Presidential Leadership Council Member and Hadramout Governor Salem al-Khanbashi met Thursday with UNFPA Yemen Representative Francesco Galtieri to discuss expanding the fund’s humanitarian and development programs in the governorate.

The talks covered reproductive health, women’s empowerment, youth support and safe spaces, as well as future priorities and stronger coordination with local authorities.

Al-Khanbashi called for a gradual shift from emergency relief to sustainable development, noting the growing pressure on Hadramout’s services as it hosts large numbers of displaced people and refugees.

Galtieri reaffirmed UNFPA’s commitment to aligning its programs with local needs and priorities and strengthening cooperation with the local authorities.
