National Commission Investigates Houthi Attacks on Mokha Port and City
[14/08/2026 05:20]
MOKHA-SABA

The National Commission to Investigate Alleged Human Rights Violations has conducted a field investigation into the recent missile attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias that targeted civilian and service facilities in the coastal city and port of Mokha, west of Taiz Governorate.

During the field visit, Commission Deputy Chairman Judge Hussein al-Mashdali, accompanied by Commission members Judge Nasser al-Awdhali and Judge Dr. Diaa Mohairz, inspected the destruction and damage caused by missiles, drones, and explosive-laden boats, which damaged a number of vital facilities and operational equipment.

The team also examined remnants of missiles and drones that fell at the targeted sites and collected samples for examination by military experts cooperating with the Commission. The analysis will support the investigation and help determine the types of weapons used in the attacks.

The team received a detailed briefing from Mokha Port management on the missile strikes targeting the port and the resulting damage to its facilities and operational equipment, as well as the civilian casualties among port workers and employees.

The Commission team also visited a number of people wounded in the attacks on the port and other locations in the city, heard their testimonies, and documented their injuries and the damage they sustained as part of its ongoing field investigation.

Mokha has come under intense Houthi missile and drone attacks in recent days, targeting economic and service facilities and infrastructure. The attacks caused material damage to civilian facilities, disrupted some services for residents, and killed and wounded civilians after missiles struck populated civilian areas.
