Vice President Lt. Gen. Ali Mohsen Saleh has told the US Ambassador to Yemen Matthew Tueller that Yemen is fighting a defensive battle against the rebel militias which Iran backed and financed to destabilize the region.
Ali Mohsen expressed Yemen's appreciation of the US support to the government and to the efforts for achieving peace in Yemen based on the relevant references; the GCC Agreement, the outcomes of the National Dailogue and the UNSC resolution no. 2216.
Tueller renewed his country's support to the government and for the security and stability of Yemen as well to cooperation in fighting terrorism and other fields.
