President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, administered the constitutional oath on Thursday to Salem Saleh Bin Breik following his appointment as Yemen's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Saudi Arabia.

After the ceremony at the Yemeni Embassy in Riyadh, the president met with Bin Breik and called on him to lead one of Yemen's key diplomatic missions with dedication, emphasizing that advancing ties with Saudi Arabia would further reinforce the longstanding strategic partnership between the two countries.

Al-Alimi said Yemen's relationship with Saudi Arabia is founded on shared history, geography, and common interests, describing the Kingdom as Yemen's most steadfast partner in providing political, economic, and humanitarian support and contributing to regional security and the protection of international shipping lanes.

He also expressed confidence that Yemen would emerge from years of crisis to become an active contributor to Gulf security and development following the restoration of state institutions, and urged the ambassador to give special attention to the Yemeni community in Saudi Arabia by improving consular services and addressing its needs. He described the expatriate community as a vital source of support for the national economy and a living bridge between the peoples of the two countries.
