[20/07/2026 03:37]
AMMAN-SABA
Senior Yemeni and Jordanian diplomats met in Amman on Sunday to discuss bilateral relations, regional developments, and ongoing efforts to support peace and stability in Yemen.

During the talks, Yemen's Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Jalal Faqira briefed Head of the Arab and Middle East Affairs Department at Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ambassador Shaker Al-Amoush on the latest developments in Yemen, highlighting continued Iranian interference in the country's affairs and its implications for Yemen's sovereignty as well as regional and international security.

Dr. Faqira also welcomed Jordan's initiative to resume humanitarian flights between Sana'a and Amman, saying it offered a lawful and practical mechanism to facilitate travel for Yemeni civilians.

He added that the Houthi militia had rejected successive proposals aimed at easing humanitarian suffering, including initiatives intended to improve civilian mobility and alleviate hardships in areas under its control.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Amoush reaffirmed Jordan's support for Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council and its commitment to Yemen's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

He also reiterated Jordan's backing for regional and international efforts to achieve a political settlement that would pave the way for a comprehensive and lasting peace in Yemen.
