Parliament Speaker meets with French Ambassador, Acting US Ambassador

RIYADH- SABA
The Speaker of the Parliament Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani met today, Monday, with the French Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Catherine Corm Kammoun.

They conferred over the latest developments in the national arena and the ongoing efforts to restore economic recovery and achieve stability.

Al-Barakani underscored the importance of international and regional support to back the government's efforts to manage economic and humanitarian challenges and to strengthen the path of reforms aimed at achieving peace and sustainable development.
The French Ambassador restated Paris's unwavering support for Yemen and its readiness to continue working to strengthen political and economic stability.
She stated that her government is keen to support the efforts of all state institutions in promoting stability and unifying their efforts in a way that serves the interests of the Yemeni people and restores the state's position and national role.

The Speaker of the Parliament also met with the Acting U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Jonathan Pecha,.

They discussed a number of topics relating the political, economic, basic services, security, and humanitarian situations in our country.

Al-Barkani made it clear that any genuine peace process must be based on the three references, and should focus on preserving the republican system, the unity of Yemen, the integrity of its territories and upholding the principles of justice, democracy, freedom and human rights.

'With claiming divine right, Houthi terrorist militias cannot be partners in building peace', al-Barakani stressed.

The Speaker of the Parliament emphasized that the convening of the Parliament and the resumption of its legislative and oversight functions represent an urgent national necessity to restore balance and correct the course of legitimacy.

The American diplomat reiterated his administration's firm stance in supporting constitutional legitimacy, together with its active partners and its keenness to restore security and stability and preserve the unity of Yemen.
