RIYADH - SABA
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) signed on Monday with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) a financial support memorandum worth nine million US dollars to support the Yemen Humanitarian Financing Fund.
The Saudi Press Agency (WAS) said that the Assistant Supervisor General of the Center for Operations and Programs Engineer Ahmed Al-Baiz signed the memorandum through a video call with the Assistant UN Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator, Joyce Msuya.
The agency indicated that under the memorandum, the Center will support the Fund to address the humanitarian crises and humanitarian needs of the Yemeni people resulting from the lack of funding and provide urgent assistance to the most vulnerable groups, and support humanitarian work in Yemen in all relief sectors and support the building of non-governmental organizations in order to reduce their dependence on the Humanitarian Financing Fund and strengthen their capabilities to attract funding.
It stated that this comes within the framework of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts, represented by the Center, to provide the necessary resources to support humanitarian work in Yemen and enhance strategic cooperation with international partners and funding agencies to improve the living conditions with the impacted people.
