Minister of Information holds consultative meeting of media men and women in Marib

Minister of Information Mo'amer Al-Iryani held a consultative meeting included media men and women in Marib province.

The gathering aimed to discuss several topics and challenges facing the legal government's media that should have an effective role in the media battle against Iran –backed Houthi militia.

The discussions also touched upon the problems facing internally displaced journalists who fled their origin areas to Marib province. The meeting aimed to explore possible solutions to the problems such as residence, salaries and the needed facilities to help media men and women do their jobs.

Al-Iryani stated that his visit to Marib province and holding this consultative meeting came upon instructions by President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi with the purpose of closely knowing about journalists and media workers' concerns and media outlets' needs so as to report about to the political leadership and government in order to help addressing the problems and improve media sector.

It is worth mentioning that Mrib province has been hosting some 300 of journalists and media men and women work for different media organizations and outlets.

The Minister of Information declared that the Prime Minister Dr Ahmed Obeid Bi-Dagher has ordered to assign 10 million Yemeni Rials to secure Residence for the displaced journalists and Media Center included Internet Service through airwaves to help the journalists doing their job.

A committee was setup to follow-up the procedures about the Residence and Media Center. The committee chaired by Ahmed Rabi'ea , Director of Public relations in the Minister of Information .

Al-Iryani has described media as the fourth front besides the military, political and economic fronts in the battle against Iran-backed Houthi militia.

The consultative meeting which organized by Ministry of Information came up with establishing a committee to follow-up possible solutions to the problems that media sector and journalists are complaining about.

Deputy Minister of Information Abdulbasit Al-Qaedi attended the meeting.
