MARIB-SABA
The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), governor of Marib governorate Sultan al-Arada called on the international community to take practical and deterrent steps to stop the violations of the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias.
He stated that the international community needs to move from condemnation to action in order to cut off the militias funding and arms supply, and imposing stricter sanctions to limit their ability to continue threatening security and stability.
During his conversations today, Thursday, via video call with the UK Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Abda Sharif, al-Arada made it clear that the continuation of international inactive stances regarding the atrocities of the Houthi militias has encouraged them to continue their hostile actions, deepen the Yemeni people humanitarian crisis, escalate attacks on civilians and vital facilities, and target commercial ships and sea routes, in blatant defiance of international law and UN Security Council resolutions.
Al-Arada praised the British supportive stances in supporting Yemen, highly appreciating the United Kingdom's role in easing the humanitarian crisis and its efforts to protect maritime security and enhance security and stability in the region.
The British Ambassador reaffirmed her country's support for the PLC and the Yemeni government.
She stated that the United Kingdom is committed to supporting efforts to safeguard maritime security, maintain Yemen's safety, and promote stability in the region, in coordination with regional and international partners.
