ADEN - SABA
Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qassem Buhaibeh on Saturday inaugurated the Aden Charitable Heart Center, a specialized facility for cardiac diseases, heart surgery and catheterization affiliated with Aden Charitable Hospital, and launched the fifth cardiac surgery and interventional catheterization camp.

The newly opened center has a capacity of 22 beds and is equipped with advanced medical technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases.

The accompanying medical camp aims to perform 500 diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures, expanding access to specialized cardiac care for patients from across the country.

During a tour of the facility, Dr. Buhaibeh was briefed by Chairman of the Gulf and Aden Charity Foundation Fahd Al-Bari on the center's departments, medical equipment and operational plans, as well as future efforts to expand specialized cardiac services.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the health minister described the project as a significant addition to Yemen's healthcare infrastructure and a successful model of cooperation between the government, private sector and charitable organizations in supporting advanced medical services.

He said the Ministry of Health was working to advance the recovery of the health sector after years of limited development and modernization, stressing that expanding specialized medical centers remains a key pillar of that effort.

Dr. Buhaibeh also underscored the importance of investing in the training and qualification of Yemeni medical professionals, citing progress in localizing a number of specialized healthcare services. He expressed hope that more advanced and highly specialized procedures would eventually be provided domestically, reducing the need for treatment abroad.

The minister praised the humanitarian role of the Gulf and Aden Charity Foundation in supporting the health sector and providing free medical services to vulnerable patients, reaffirming the ministry's commitment to facilitating charitable initiatives that improve healthcare quality.

He further directed the Higher Medical Council to adopt the Heart Center as a specialized training facility and expand professional development programs aimed at strengthening national expertise in cardiology and cardiac surgery.

For his part, Al-Bari reviewed the development of Aden Charitable Hospital and the Heart Center, describing the project as the result of charitable national investment dedicated to expanding access to advanced healthcare services in line with international medical standards.

He said the center had been equipped with state-of-the-art medical devices and supported by operational programs designed to enhance service quality and meet growing patient needs.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for the surgical camp Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Matari outlined the initiative's objectives and implementation mechanisms, noting that 500 patients from various governorates would benefit from specialized diagnostic and treatment services during the campaign.

Following the ceremony, Dr. Buhaibeh toured the center's operating rooms and technical departments, where he was briefed on its advanced medical capabilities. He commended the level of equipment and technology available, saying they would contribute to delivering high-quality diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical cardiac services in accordance with modern medical standards.
