Ministry of Human Rights Strongly Condemns Houthi Terrorist Attack on IDPs in Marib

The Ministry of Human Rights strongly condemned the heinous terrorist crime carried out by the Houthi militias on Monday evening, when they targeted a gathering and shelter for internally displaced people (IDP) in the Raghwan district, northern Marib governorate, with a ballistic missile.
The attack resulted in the death of two children, one aged seven and the other five, and injured 15 civilians, including eight children.
The ministry confirmed in a statement issued today, Tuesday,, learned by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that targeting gatherings of IDP, children and civilians is a serious crime and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law.
The ministry stated that this crime is not an isolated incident, but rather comes in the context of a serious and systematic military escalation carried out by the Houthi terrorist militias, which has included targeting cities, residential neighborhoods, civilian areas and facilities.
The ministry called on the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and all other relevant international bodies to take clear and consistent stances on the violations committed against civilians.
