The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed solidarity with Poland following the recent drone incursions into Polish airspace, reportedly linked to Russia.

In a statement, the ministry emphasized that repeated violations of NATO airspace pose a significant threat to Euro-Atlantic security and vowed to take decisive measures to defend the alliance.

Defense Minister Atanas Zapryanov condemned Russia's actions as a provocation, highlighting that the airspace of NATO member states is considered part of the alliance's common airspace.

While noting that the drone incident did not trigger Article 5 collective defense provisions, Zapryanov stressed that Russia's actions still constitute a gross violation of international law.
