The operating revenue of major light industry companies in China reached 11.3 trillion yuan (approximately 1.57 trillion US dollars) during the first half of this year.
The added value of these companies recorded a growth of 7 percent year-on-year, according to data released by the National Council for Light Industry of China.
According to the Chinese news agency (Xinhua), the stimulus policies have played a significant role in the consumption market, where sales of 11 categories of light industry products exceeded 4.3 trillion yuan during the first half of the year, marking an increase of 11.6 percent year on year.
In terms of industrial upgrading, the pace of transition towards advanced and smart products has accelerated, with the penetration rate of digital research and development tools among major light industry companies reaching 86.2 percent, contributing to the large-scale production of high value-added products.
