Presidential Leadership Council's Member Othman Mujalli confers with American Ambassador over peace efforts

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Othman Mujalli met today, Tuesday, with the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin.

The session aimed to discuss Yemeni-American bilateral relations and the American administration's efforts to establish peace in Yemen.

Mujalli stated that the Presidential Leadership Council, the government and the Coalition in support of legality in Yemen are keen to establish peace, end the war imposed by the Iranian backed Houthi militias.

He said " Houthi leader deals with peace as an opportunity to rearrange his military situations", adding " We do show great flexibility in dealing with peace issues for the interests of our people, but we do categorically reject any proposals aiming to put the Yemenis fate in hands of the Houthi opponent who has never stopped to target the civilians and military personnel".

Mujalli put the blame squarely on the Houthis for the Yemeni peoples' economic hardships and humanitarian suffering. " They are [Houtis] the absolute and real threat to Yemen's unity, republican regime, constitutional institutions and its territorial integrity", he said.

The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council largely blamed the Iranian regime for prolonging the conflict Yemen as it is continuing to supply the Houthi militias with weapons, drones, missiles, funds and military experts".

" We are fully aware that Houthi militiamen are unable to make or use the drones and ballistic missiles, they are incapable to make a gun bullet, they are the Iranian military experts who are doing so", said Mujalli.

Mujalli praised the American role in fighting terrorism, calling for resuming the oil and gas exports, highlighting the need for American companies to contribute to this matter.

The American Ambassador has confirmed his country's full and continuous support for the efforts to make peace in Yemen.
