RIYADH - SABA
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed BinMubarak blamed Iran-backed Houthi militias for refusing to extend the UN-brokered humanitarian truce.
He noted that Houthi militia is intentionally blocking the peaceful settlement track in Yemen, seeking to bring Yemen back to the war state.
He made his statement as he met here today, Wednesday, with the Charged' Affairs of the British embassy in the Republic of Yemen.
The Foreign Minister stated that the government has offered significant concessions in a bid to achieve peace and mitigate the humanitarian crisis created by Houthi aggression on the Yemeni people.
He noted that Houthi militia has mistakenly understood the tolerance shown by the government, goes on exercising blackmail, draining all good offices aiming to re-establish security and peace in Yemen for time-consuming and foiling available chances to de-escalate the conflict.
The British diplomat confirmed his country's support for the legitimate Yemeni government, Yemen's unity, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
