Greece expressed its solidarity with the Yemeni government and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in efforts to defend their sovereignty according to international law.

During a UN Security Council session on Yemen, the Permanent Representative of Greece to the United Nations Ambassador Aglaia Balta strongly condemned the escalating military actions, including attacks targeting civilians and vital civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, which resulted in civilian casualties and injuries, calling for an unconditional stop to them
She affirmed that the developments in Yemen, alongside the current crisis in the Strait of Hormuz, have implications for the security and stability of Yemen and the entire region, affecting international navigation, trade and global prosperity.

Balta expressed her country's concern about the humanitarian consequences of the Houthi escalation, including the displacement of more civilians fleeing their homes and communities, noting that women and children are among the most vulnerable to the effects
