Minister al-Yafei Discusses with Director-General of Arab Labor Organization, Arab Counterparts Exchange of Expertise in Labor Markets

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Mukhtar al-Yafei held discussions on the sidelines of the 52nd session of the Arab Labor Conference with Director-General of the Arab Labor Organization Fayez al-Mutairi and several Arab labor ministers and heads of participating delegations.

The discussions focused on areas of joint cooperation in labor, employment, and vocational training, along with ways to develop workforce qualification programs in line with the needs of Arab labor markets.

During his meetings, Minister al-Yafei addressed the labor market needs of Arab countries in various professions, specializations, and skills, as well as opportunities to expand prospects for qualified Yemeni workers and facilitate procedures related to their employment.

These efforts would contribute to creating new employment opportunities and strengthening the presence of Yemeni professionals in Arab labor markets.

He also discussed with the Director-General of the Arab Labor Organization, ministers and heads of delegations ways to benefit from leading Arab experiences in preparing and qualifying workers in accordance with domestic and international market requirements. Discussions also covered the development of vocational and technical training programs, linking them to the actual needs of employers, exchanging expertise in labor market regulation, improving workforce efficiency, and enhancing workers’ competitiveness.

Minister al-Yafei affirmed that the ministry is working to redirect training and qualification programs to align with the changes taking place in labor markets, with a focus on the professions and skills that are in greatest demand.

He highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation with the Arab Labor Organization and brotherly countries, and building partnerships that facilitate the exchange of information on labor market needs while providing more organized pathways for qualified Yemeni workers to benefit from available employment opportunities.
