Parliament Speaker Sultan al-Barakani discussed Monday with UN Under Secretary General, the Executive Director of UN Office on Drugs and Crime Ghada Wally progress in field of monitoring containers and cooperation in field of combating drugs and crime.
In the meeting held on the sidelines of his participation in the fifth Parliamentarian Conference for Parliament Speakers to be held on 7-9 of September, al-Barakani discussed with Wally mechanisms of international review of Yemen's case due on November, combating corruption, marine crimes, program of Red Sea Ports, program of improving Yemen's ports and airports.
The two parties also discussed significance of providing needs and capacity building Yemen requires and Yemen's participation in many UN activities regarding fighting terrorism and combating corruption.
He praised UN role and the role of UN Office on Drugs and Crime, confirming Yemen's efforts for boosting partnership with the UN in this field and working with the UN on eradicating all practices of violence, crime and terrorism.
For her part, Wally confirmed reconstructing units in Aden and Sayoon for the UN and providing Yemen with necessary needs and improving its capacities to manage these operations.
