TAIZ-SABA
Yemen's army has regained outposts in its ongoing battle with the Houthi putschist militants in central Yemen's Taiz city, a military source said.
The army retook the strategic Alsheeki hilltop and Zubeida villages and killed and injured several Houthi militants in Maqbana district, to the west of Taiz, the source said.
The front reportedly saw a dramatic collapse in the militant's grip on those rural areas.
The armed theocratic Houthi militants, from north Yemen's Saada, invaded the central Yemen province in 2015 and have since been besieging three million people in Taiz's provincial capital and cutting them off from medical and humanitarian provisions. The city is left with only one humanitarian conduit that connects it to the temporary capital Aden in the south.
