Prime Minister Mo'een Abdulmalik launched on Monday the Second National anti- Polio Campaign being implemented by the Ministry of Public Health and Population in partnership with the UNICEF and the World Health Organization across Yemen.
PM gave vaccine doses to a number of children for commencing the campaign, which targets 5,5 million children in 3,5 million houses.
The house- to- house campaign is carried out by 2,650 sponsoring team and 18,768 field team carrying 6.8 million doses in the second round.
Prime Minister expressed pleasure for launching the vaccination campaign, which targets eradicating diseases inflicting children, confirming that the government- in cooperation with UN and international organizations- is planning to get rid of children diseases and overcoming challenges facing health sectors over the war triggered by Houthi rebel militia.
He valued support of these organizations and support of the Saudi-led Coalition for supporting government's health plans, calling parents to react positively for making the campaign successful.
He called on Houthi militia to facilitate the work of the vaccination teams and not to hinder them and to stop inciting against vaccination campaigns, endangering Yemen's future generation.
