MASAM Removes 2166 of Houthi-Laid Landmines, UXO In 11 Days

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's Demining Project in Yemen, known as "MASAM" managed to remove 2,166 of landmines, unexploded ordnances (UXO) and improvised explosive devices (IED) Since the beginning of September until the 11th.
The Project Operations Room reported that 1,660 UXO, 488 anti-tank mines, 7 anti-personnel mines and 11 IEDs were removed. An area of 443,939 square meters of land has been cleared.
It is important to note that since it has started it demining mission in June 2018, MASAM removed 590,491 of landmines, UXO and IEDs, included 421,168 UXO, 152,964 anti-tank and 7,682 anti-personnel landmines, and 8,677 IEDs.
Up to 85,447,115 square meters of Yemeni land were cleared until September 11, 2026, according to the Director-General of the MASAM Project, Osama al-Qusaibi.
